Welcome back to the Monster Mash! This is the first update post-Uni, and as the name of this update implies, a lot happened. Let's dive in, shall we?
Before we begin, I want to fill you all in on the mini-challenges I'll be undertaking in addtiion to the main one. They are:
FAMILY FRIENDSHIPS – As a family of outcasts, your black sheep’s family really need to stick together. If all immediate family members of the black sheep (parents, siblings, grandparents, pets) are best friends with your black sheep by the time they achieve their final lifestate, you get +10 points per friendship! However they MUST be best friends with every family member to get these points. A family of the parents, and one sibling can earn +30 points if they’re all best friends. However, if the black sheep has a bad relationship with their sibling, you can’t achieve these points because they are not friends with.
PORTRAITURE – Have a portrait/photo/selfie/etc. of every family member! +15 points
BEFORE AND AFTER – On top of the portraiture challenge, paint a portrait/take a picture of the black sheep each time they gain a new lifestate and hang them up in the house! +5 points for every lifestate portrait.
HEIRS AND SPARES – Dealing with supernaturals is risky business. Your black sheep needs to have a spare to pick up the mantle in case a terrible accident happens! +10 points if the black sheep has a spare.
FAMILY – Your vanilla sim founder wants a family! They must find a partner and have at least three children. These children don’t need to be the partner’s (all can be the results of alien abductions, for example). +25 points
WICKED (TS2) – The black sheep’s family wants to be special too! Get three different sims in the family to become witches. +10 for your infallibly good witch, +10 for your atrociously evil witch, +10 for your true neutral witch.
Current Point Total comes in at 15 points, since I'm giving myself the points for the first gen finishing uni. Maybe that's not how it's supposed to work, but hey, I spent time there so I deserve some reward. Now then, onto the update proper!
Here we are at Casa de Black, a nice little seaside shanty.
I'm not joking when I say little. Not quite a shoebox, but it'll do!
The first order of business? Getting jobs! I thought I'd wait until their respective fields showed up, but let's be real, with all that time spent at Uni, it's best to dive right into it.
So they went off to the Rec Center made by salamisimmer! I added in a job hunting board since I didn't have another lot where I could place the board with ease, and I wasn't quite up to building when I played last.

Unsavory Charlatan: It's time for, as the kids say, "to do it to 'em."
I'm so sorry, Clarence.
Also, I realized I messed up making townies for this 'hood. I made about 50 dormies (Young Adults) in the Uni 'hood, whoops. So I had to create more townies in the main hood, which ended up around 30. Clarence here was created at the beginning of this 'hood, but he's technically one of the garden club members.
Ben: Can't we at least get a dining table in this house? Only one chair is a little ridiculous.
Mason: Too expensive
The perk of college is starting at a higher level in a given career, but the downside is that a sim's skills (and friendships) are a bit below what's needed for a promotion.
Ben starts at 5, so he's off! Make us some cash Ben!
Mason spends the evening at home working on making (and maintaining) household friendships.
Home, but no promotion yet.

I spent some of Mason's aspiration perks on the career tab so he could beg for his job back. Let's hope that he'll keep it, and that the "Business Instinct" perk will come in clutch for future chance cards.
So ACR kept trying to get these two to woohoo, and I kept cancelling it out since I figured it'd get one of them pregnant (and I was waiting for one or both of them to have our future black sheep, who has to be an alien.) I decided this time, "hey, why don't I let them woohoo?" and then Ben gets pregnant alsdkgjlkgsa. I played myself. But hey, I let them have Family as a secondary aspiration, so at least they'll be pretty happy about the outcome.
Also in the "playing myself" category, I bought a telescope. And let Mason stargaze. Thankfully, he wasn't abducted.
He's pregnant alright.
...buuutttt I had him go to work since we need the cash after buying a telescope and Mason's debacle. Sorry Ben.
Ben: Capitalism's a bitch, I get it
Moral of the story? Always lie.
Regardless, Ben got promoted from a Medium to a Douser!
Ben: Serves you right, Randy. May you never get another partner.
Ben: So yeah, I'm pregnant.
Mason: We barely have room for ourselves where are we going to put a baby??

With the baby fast approaching, I figured it was high time for these two to tie the knot.

Also, I gave Mason the time off, since he needs skills for his next promotion.
Ben: You did what now!?
So, uh, since Mason wasn't getting abducted normally, I decided to do a litmus test to see if the Knowledge perk to "Summon Aliens" would work in speeding up the process. Since Mason blew his on saving his job, Ben was our only test subject, and, uh, it worked a little too well.
Welcome back!
Ben: I don't care what Mason's old Xenobiology class said that shit hurt
And yes, there were chimes. Sorry Ben, didn't quite mean to make you into our designated carrier!
I'll leave you off with a nice little loading screen of the family so far! I sent Mason downtown to look for vampires, but alas, he had no such luck. Hell, I should send Ben since he's been a lot luckier with everything else so far! We'll see about that, and getting Mason to have one of the alien kids, since I have been calling this "Mason Black's Monster Mash."
