As much as I'd like to get a post out, today (and potentially the next few days) might not happen? There's high winds rolling through the state late this morning and into the afternoon, and they're [the power company] warning of some power outages. With that said, I'll be trying to pluck away at my homework in the event there is one, which means that the update I was going to write today may or may not come. Stay tuned on that end!

I played the LEPacy yesterday and today, and while I could theoretically get an update out tonight before midnight to make my "one post a day in April 2020" goal, that's just not feasible (I'm tired and I just wanna vibe tbh). I'm uploading the pictures that will be tomorrow's update up to Imgur now, and I'll get the pictures I took tonight edited up instead.

Hey everyone, it's time for an update post! So I had this previously unwritten rule that I'd get a post up each day on Dreamwidth this month (since y'know, the whole quarantine thing happening w/ the 'rona going around), but today's not going to happen. My grandiose plan was to back up Hart MMBC Episode 1, and while I got the images up to Imgur and started backing up the episode in Notepad++, I got caught up re-reading

sevenleaf's Collins MMBC finale (which isn't on Dreamwidth yet, so here the Tumblr link to the TOC). After that, I lost motivation, and at basically 9:30 at night I Just Don't Want To Do It. Plus I was actually being a good student for once during this quarantine (shocking I know) and got homework done this afternoon, which meant I didn't do much of the Hart post.

So does this mean I'll have the episode up tomorrow? I hope. I've also been vibing with Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Stardew Valley, along with playing the Baines LEPacy, so who knows! If push comes to shove, I could always start backing up my TS2 highlights here as well, but I feel like that might be a bit messier since it's Strangetown w/ subhoods (and the amount of tags you get on here is already limited, so that's something to keep in mind as well). Essentially, it's anyone's guess for tomorrow!

Stay tuned for... something, is essentially the gist of this update.

Hiya, Dreamwidth!

It's been a minute, hasn't it? I did return from my hiatus on my simblr, but I never really "returned" here. Since Tumblr didn't implode after December 2018, I stopped putting effort into the backups of my flagship saves (primarily my MMBC trilogy), since it didn't feel worth it/as urgent. Along with taking a back seat on uploading all of my LEPacy here, and losing interest in the Indigo Legacy, I haven't quite had a need to update here. I have, however, been posting some "highlights" from my current Strangetown save on my simblr, and since that's TS2 and fits the aesthetic of a journal site like this, I might start putting them here as well.

For now, I'm falling down a rabbit hole of Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Stardew Valley, along with possibly restarting my LEPacy, so it's anyone's guess as to what's going to be coming here yet.

Well, I didn't want August to slip completely past without one (1) post here. Not a lot of people used this as much as they said they once were following the Tumblr NSFW ban, but in case someone happens to check up here, I'm writing this post.

I took a simblr hiatus at the beginning of this month, and by extension, one here as well. I still feel great on it, but I do miss sharing some random gameplay tidbits here and there, along with seeing other's stories. I still need to decide how I'll view those going forward, but for now, I'm just chilling on my main fandom Tumblr (

danganwhompa ).

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the challenges on here are on an official hiatus now (Monster Mash & Indigo Legacy), and so are the backups. But since Tumblr's still around for the moment, and I'm still on it, I don't see a need to get everything backed up now.

I do hope everyone is doing well! Classes have started up for me again, so maybe not having a simblr to focus on will ease my stress just a little. Econ sucks, and so does math, but they'll do that to ya when you haven't had them in a year (mirco was last year in the fall semester, this year for the fall semester is macro).

I tend to make these a lot, don’t I? Well, the reason I’ve had little content this month was primarily due to school. I had a lot to do (projects, papers, exams) that I wanted to focus on first and foremost. I took my last quiz this morning, I returned the books that needed to go back, and I’m officially done with classes until the end of August!

The other reason I haven’t posted: I haven’t been motivated? I played the LEPacy a week or so ago and I got some screenshots, which I finally edited yesterday or today (honestly I can’t remember, but I know they got done). Only two are queued up on one post, which is where I’m at with that right now. I haven’t felt the LEPacy or NSB for this whole month, hence no posts. Sapphire Springs in TS2 has been fun, but not quite holding my attention, and the Monster Mash is stuck in limbo for now. What I have been playing is Pokémon Black where I’m five gym badges in (the furthest I’ve gotten in it!) and Kingdom Hearts 2 (where I am now finally in the second half of the game). Plus Joker came out in Smash so I’ve been playing that too. I’m hoping to make a return to these saves during my month off before work picks up again, perhaps as filler on the downtime between MMBC queues.

So long story short: School’s out, content will be incoming once more, and I’ve been having fun with some non-sims games this past month.

Edited to add: I have been backing up Francis MMBC on my Dreamwidth! So I haven’t been completely content dry, it’s just not new content.

If you were around Tumblr about a week ago, you would be aware I switched from

jackssims to

harmoniouspixels. I figured that to keep the brands the same, I'd switch it here too! Yes, I did pay $15 to change it, but it's something I wanted to do, and it's more effective than making a whole new journal when I've already started posting here. Also, any old jackssims DW links will redirect to this new URL.

That about does it for the update, but here's the relevant text copied from Tumblr regarding the name change:

Holy smokes, a URL change? In my good 2019? It’s more likely than you think. This change has been in the making for… several years now, really, but I’ve finally committed to it.

Why harmoniouspixels? I’ve been obsessing over one of my favorite characters again: N from the Pokemon series. Plus, harmoniouspixels has a nice ring to it. Expect a more N appropriate theme at some point, since the pictures I have of a TS3 version of him I downloaded (and albeit tweaked, since the orgiinal creator made him with hella sliders and he looked wonky) wouldn’t make for a good icon or banner.

That last part has already been done, as you can see. I'm also thinking about changing my journal theme, but we'll see.

So yeah, to recap: I'm now harmoniouspixels! Goodbye, jackssims, you've served me well over the years.

While I'm taking a break form homework and putting off shoveling snow, I figured I should give a bit of an update on what's happening here, since I ended up being more active on Tumblr than I thought I'd be. Breaking it down into two major categories per this blog are backups and original works, namely the Monster Mash at this point in time.

Backup Progress: Currently abysmal by my standards. I started backing up Francis MMBC last month and... kinda faltered? Well then. I know I started with that, but I may just start backing up what I want here on out, although I feel my MMBCs are kind of my Big Thing.
More Backup Stuff: I have a lot of discontinued challenges on my Tumblr that I want to keep, but not necessarily here since they either 1) are not complete, or 2) have not shown signs of progress towards completion. An example of this would be the Matthews Legacy, a TS2 legacy that ran from 2014-2015, but ended at the start of the third gen. I'm thinking of making another site for those types of stories. Yay or nay? A link would be provided if/when it happens, and would be pasted on my Table of Contents here.
Mason Black's Monster Mash: Still happening, just little motivation! I want to keep it going, but I'm a sucker for my sims and I don't want to see Mason and Ben get old and die lmao. I'm thinking of extracting them before I keep going so I'll feel a little better about this.

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a safe holiday. I finally got back to DW and caught up on everything! (Well, almost everything. I know that Clover (

sevenleaf) is currently backing up Rosenberg, but I'd gotta hunker down to binge read that. Soon, I promise.)

So, what's in the cards for this journal in the New Year? A few things, actually. Consider them my Dreamwidth Resolutions.

Backups. I know I mentioned this before, but I'd like to back up the three MMBCs I have to this page. Perhaps my legacies too, but that's a bit ambitious. However, I'll try my best to do so... at some point. It's going to be a lot of legwork, and time's running out on break, and the motivation isn't quite there.
Monster Mash. I'll (hopefully) be finishing this soon! I'd say a couple of weeks, but school's about to start back up next week. At this rate, gimme a couple of months and we'll be golden.
New Exclusives. Like the monster mash, I hope to have more DW exclusives on here! Of any of the games, really. I might try some shorter challenges, rather than full-blown legacies, but we'll see how that goes.

That's it for the update! I have some monster mash pictures for an update that I'll post... maybe within the hour? I'm not sure. I want to play tonight, but I don't want to have too many pictures to make wiring an update cumbersome.

Happy Holidays everyone! I know there hasn't been a Monster Mash update in a bit, and that's because I took a little break. I know it's only been a week, but the challenge is a lot longer than I'd thought it'd be, considering the Uni start. That'll be back... at some point. I do have some screenshots from last week that I may put up, mental energy and time barring.

Speaking of time, I've lost a bunch of free time! With the Christmas holiday now done, things aren't slowing up here. I've got shifts to work over the next three days, which means I can't stay up still 1 AM because of it, or sleep in (boo). Go figure work coincides with a bunch of new stuff to try out (Smash, Kirby Star Allies, Get Famous), that I'll have to budget my time around that. Oh, and trying to get my room ready to be painted. Fun stuff.

That said, I do have a queue going back on Tumblr of my Not So Berry Challenge in TS4 if that tickles your fancy for now. It'll be a bit slower around here for the next week or so, and I'll try to do some catching up tonight! I'm about a week behind on my reading page, so I have plenty to keep be occupied for the next couple of days.

Alright, I've said it once and I'll say it a hundred more times if I have to: Tumblr imploding during finals season is awful. That aside, I'm currently procrastinating my American History final to bring an update here!

Wordpress
At the moment, I've got the Tumblr importer running on Wordpress. I started it last night, but it's still going. I'm not alarmed since I've heard it can take awhile, and the fact that my Tumblr export (via the Settings tab) was still running until early this morning (read: night). So I don't expect it to be imported anytime soon, but for now, you can bookmark/follow/whatever you do on Wordpress jackssims. (Just click jackssims and you're good to go!)

Other Musings
I'm still adjusting to the format here? It also doesn't help that "keep me logged in" isn't checked when you're logging in, otherwise I keep having to sign in. Wanna guess what I forgot to do logging in today? Regardless, I'll figure it out... Eventually. I changed my theme to something other than the default, which is a start.

Other than that, I've got nothing else. Oh, other than Joker's in Smash and I'm still excited for that! (Any Persona 5/Smash fans out there?)

I joined this site back in June of 2017 and never even made an introductory post? Alright then. Let's see if I can get this site figured out!

First things first, this is Jack from

harmoniouspixels (neé

jackssims ) on Tumblr. The initial plan of this account was to make it a side blog for new simblr stories, before I realized it may serve a better purpose as a backup. Given the new Tumblr rules set to go into effect on December 17th, that may change things. I'll still hold out on there, but hey, better safe than sorry.

"What will the backups include?" you might ask. They will consist of the following:

Legacy Challenges from TS2, TS3, and TS4. Not all were completed, and some are on-going, but it'd still be good to back them up.
Murder Mystery Bachelor Challenges from TS3. This will include the backup of my MMBC trilogy, Francis, Hart, and Baines. For more MMBC rule info, go here.
Downloads, which are mainly TS3. Consists of lots and sims, with a couple sets of "male maternity" clothes.

That I think about does it? Who knows when this will be properly set up (or my Wordpress), since Tumblr unveiled these rules in the thick of finals season.

Oh, one last thing. This site feels very dA/MySpace-y with the "Music" and "Mood" options for the posts. Kind of vintage, eh?
