Another day, another LEPacy update! It's a bit more condensed as we had some big changes in this one. Read on to see what's new in the Baines's life!
As we can see here, Connor is still very much in the middle of his mid-life crisis.
Connor: I'm OLD.
I completely forgot from last time that Caleb learned to walk, so imagine the utter terror when I saw him on two legs.
Caleb: Fear my power, Watcher.
This feels like a cinematic parallel, but Cathy is Older now.
Cathy: Or you just took it to pad the update.
The "chat" interaction with toddlers is too cute. ;-;
Continuing from an update a few times ago (1.5 I believe), Cathy cut her hair!
Cathy: Perfect. I have achived total momdom. Carol Brady has nothing on me now.
Story time! Since the Baines's at this point had roughly 17K simoleons, I promised Connor's mid-life crisis wish to buy a car costing 10K simoleons or more. However, since I only have two other packs in besides BG, this one cost 19K, with the next cheapest option clocking in at only 9.8K. Oops. So, since the LEPacy rules aren't as strict as a regular legacy's, I used some LTW points to get the Inheritance reward. Hey, someone may have died with dubious connections to the family, but money! And a new car!
I think this is the firs time in the whole LEPacy we've had a full family meal? Shook.
Connor: You see, Agnes's writing techniques are not all that--
Cathy: Babe, she writes Children's books. It's not that deep.
These two are still so sweet. (As a side note, this is the first time I've had a sim going through a midlife crisis (Connor) who didn't roll a wish to break up with their spouse. Instead, Connor kept rolling romance wishes. I'm weak. ;-;)
A birthday appears!
At least Connor seems thrilled about it.
And with a sparkly twirl...
...we now have a child sim! He's still using he/him (for now at least). I just disabled the CAS gender locks for him because he grew up into those Generations (ballet?) shoes, and was like "Oh. He's not cis." and just ran with it.
I gave him the over-emotional trait, since he's going to be our ~star~ in Starlight Shores. (Plus if I'm going to keep the spouse I had in mind, the sim who was going to be heir in my old LEPacy, he already has the Diva trait, so we're covered there.)Also ignore that gross post-age up look. It was bad.
Caleb: Wait, that's not the cake from my birthday just now!
Connor: It's from mine. The cake never goes bad.
Caleb: Why--
Connor: Do not question the cake.
A bit zoomed out, but a house update! Since we got that money before Caleb aged up, some more of that money went into giving him a decent room. The bathrooms were also upgraded, as well as the kitchen's fridge. The living room saw some (slight) improvements as well with a new bookshelf and couch!
Since I didn't want to forget, Connor drove Caleb to the school to enroll in the afterschool ballet program.
It also served as a trip to the park for Caleb to play on, and Connor to conduct interviews for his job.
Christopher: ...and that does it for my lint collection. Now for my stamps--
Connor: No wonder why Jack abandoned this the first time around. It's you who is boring as mashed potatoes.
Caleb wanted to learn how to paint and to get an easel, so I obliged!
Cathy: How dare you use your gift, son. I wanted to admire my material possession.
Caleb: Get rekt, mother.
Connor caught up with the apparently a Chad now Mortimer Goth for an interview!
Mortimer: How can you not flirt with everyone you meet?
Connor: With ease and replusion, sir. Now about that interview...
A bit of an abrupt end, but that's where we'll call things this time!
