harmoniouspixels | The Indigo Random Legacy (1.0)

Welcome to a brand new TS2 legacy challenge! I wanted to do something new, and preferably in TS2. I once did a random legacy challenge for TS2, the Matthews Legacy, but that didn't go far. I'm hoping this one will, or at the very least, be entertaining for the time being.

Without further ado, let's get this show rolling!

First, I'll show off our rolls for Gen 1, copied from the document I put them in.

Martial Structure: Single Parent with Help
Number of Children: 5
Career: Standard; Law Enforcement
Secondary Income: Florist (use OFB bench)
Generational Goal: Perfect Children

As usual, the dice are not going easy on me for Gen 1. Everything is self-explanatory, but the Misc. Fun is to get into a fight every sim week. Not sure how I'm going to do that, but I'll figure it out. Now, let's introduce our founders, shall we?

Meet the Indigo brothers! I came up with this concept after rolling single parent with help, and then again after getting florist as our secondary income. Now, more about these two:

Kendal Indigo, he/him (left)
-The elder brother, very gay
-Family Aspiration, Secondary TBD
-LTW: Become Education Minister
-Capricorn
-Turn Ons: Blonde Hair and Logical; Turn Off: Stink
-OTH: Cuisine

Dalton Indigo, he/him (right)
-The younger brother, also very gay
-Family aspiration, Secondary TBD
-LTW: Have Six Grandchildren
-Capricorn
-Turn Ons: Red Hair and Good Cook; Turn Off: Cologne
-OTH: Cuisine

Story Justification for these two:
-Kendal, looking for a new life, decided to head out to a new neighborhood on his own
-However, Dalton, concerned for his brother, tagged along
-The two aren't twins, but were born in the same month in different years (weird I know, but I rolled their zodiac signs and that's what we're going with)
-Despite wanting to go into Education, Kendal is trying out something new
-Dalton is (hopefully) going to be our florist

Oh, and when I first made them, I didn't even realize Dalton had the same hair as Kendal, which prompted me to change it, but at least it proves that they look similar enough:

We begin our journey on Legacy Isle, a 'hood based on the Moon Island template, on the biggest lot and customary Founder Shack.

The double bed was purchased with the potential love interests in mind for when Kendal needs to try for baby, but in retrospect with ACR all you need is a sofa. I'd make a joke about these two only sharing one braincell, but it looks like myself, the player, only has one (1). So for now, these two get to share a bed.

Dalton: So are you sure you want to be a cop out here?
Kendal: Definitely! I want to get this new experience and start my life. You could always go home if you want.
Dalton: No, I'm fine here. I just want to make sure you're confident in this choice, you know?
Kendal: I get it, but don't worry so much. Let's have some fun out here!

Our first NPC of the 'hood is Beth the Paper Girl!

Beth: I've heard the rumors about shacks appearing out of nowhere, but I never thought it would happen to me here. Leave me out of this.

The next NPC was Christy, the Garden Club Member.

Christy: Hello. I am wearing a broken default. Please interact with me.
Kendal: [sighing]
Dalton: Don't worry, I've got this.

In the end, Kendal chatted and befriended Christy. Dalton on the other hand got a head start on the florist bench! However, despite making daisy bouquets for 36 simoleans, they only sold for 40. I'm only in it for him to get some practice for now, but hopefully I can have him start selling them either at a lot or here at the house.

Kendal: Dalton! I'm trying to write in my journal!
Dalton: I can't even see what you're writing. It's not my fault there's nothing to do here.
Kendal: Then should we go to the rec center that opened up?
Dalton: Wait, when did that get here?

Yes, the Rec Center! It was made by salamisimmer, and edited by me to add in some walkways and a job search board.

Kendal: Hey, did you see that sweet kick?
Dalton: I wouldn't have called it "sweet".
Kendal: Well, if you were a cute guy, then you would've been impressed.
Dalton: Even if I was I'd still be unamused. Besides, I'm convinced this island doesn't have any cute guys. It's literally just the paper girl, Christy, and that creepy dude.
Kendal: Creepy dude?
Dalton: I saw him lingering around up front.

Unsavory Charlatan: [being unsavory]

Going out wore the two out, so they both went to bed when they got home.

Kendal: Wouldn't it be great if we got a TV?
Dalton: Yeah, but we need money first.

Dalton: So if you'll excuse me, I'll be off to work now.

(My concession here is that Dalton could get the highest paying job in the newspaper, which happened to be in the Medicine career. He can work until level 5 or when his flower-arranging improves; whichever comes first.)

Despite making progress towards the one body skill point needed for his job, Kendal still had a bit to get the full point. Jump rope it was!

So, how was work?

Dalton: Not too bad, all things considered.

Kendal: Ugh, this uniform itches and the phone is ringing? What if it's a cute guy?

(It was not a cute guy.)

So while he make rash decisions, in moments like this, Kendal tends to refer to someone else to ensure he's making the right move.

(AKA this popped up and I was like "oh shit oh shit I don't want to get him fired on day one oh shit")

Getting that body skill point before work and calling the police paid off, and Kendal got promoted! It's well needed.

That ends our first update! Next up the house might get a remodel (early on, or maybe later) with these new funds, and maybe Kendal and Dalton will find some cute guys. ~~I just have to make them.~~ Until the next update!
